  • How To Connect With Me

A few daily mantras

Over the years there have been many sayings I have heard or read, which have really struck a cord with me and provided much comfort and support, particularly in times of adversity.

And I have found that words are sometimes all that is required to change a hopeless situation, to a hopeful one.

Below, I have captured some of my most influential mantra's, that have stood the test of time and served to guide me or inspire me to action when I have at times doubted myself.

I'm sharing them in the hope they can be of help to you too. I've found the best way to work with these mantra's is not to over think them, or agonise over which one you should choose, or what the deeper meaning of it is. The key is always to be found in simplicity - just allow yourself to be drawn to the one which catches your eye and your instinct will translate it into the meaning for you.

Whenever I hear a saying, a quotes or mantra's that touches my soul, I write it down and then each morning I just choose one to be my anchor for the day ahead. It really does make a difference to have a few wise words accompany you on your daily journey, through this mad thing called life.

Enjoy, with love

Use what you have right here, right now

A legacy is a feeling, not a pot of gold

Use what you have right here, right now

You may never have the perfect amount of resources, freedom, or environment to achieve your dreams. So, stop waiting for the impossible, use what you have right here, right now.

Take the small steps, they will all add up to bigger ones, no matter what just keep moving forwards in whatever way you can,

Just take the next best step.

You are enough

A legacy is a feeling, not a pot of gold

Use what you have right here, right now

Remember that no matter what life throws at you, you are enough, you will get through it and it will pass.

Our fear is but an optical illusion, trying to persuade us that we are not enough, we will fail, we will come to harm.

But, in fact our fear lies, it simply serves to make us play small, constrain our potential and believe a false view of who we really are and what we are really capable of.

A legacy is a feeling, not a pot of gold

A legacy is a feeling, not a pot of gold

A legacy is a feeling, not a pot of gold

It is the gifts of kindness that last beyond a lifetime, not the gifts of gold.

No-one will remember what car you drove, but my goodness, they will remember if you made them smile, feel good about themselves and accepted them for who they are.

It is the gifts of kindness and understanding that will last beyond your lifetime, not the gifts of gold.

We always have a choice

Maybe it is, maybe is isn't

A legacy is a feeling, not a pot of gold

"I choose to take charge of the rest of my life" Annoymous

No matter how bleak, desperate or insurmountable things may seem, we always have a choice - that of how we respond, how we choose to see our circumstances and what we choose to do about them. No one gets to define who you are but you, not ever.

Maybe it is, maybe is isn't

Maybe it is, maybe is isn't

Maybe it is, maybe is isn't

When things do not work out the way we had imagined them to, we often assume the worst.

But the thing is we do not know what else is waiting around the corner and in the bigger picture, we do not know whether we have in fact, been saved from adversity, not plunged into it.

Maybe it's good, maybe it's not - time and tide will tell, be patient and trust in the flow of life, things often happen for a reason.

Fear is not my friend

Maybe it is, maybe is isn't

Maybe it is, maybe is isn't

Decisions made from and actions driven by fear often feel mean and that's because they probably are.

Fear makes us see the worst in ourselves and others.

Fear closes us down and silences our voice.

Fear takes away hope, meaning and trust.

Fear does not allow us to live, only to merely survive.

Life is not predictable, there are always risks to be taken and challenges to be faced. And the best way to deal with them is by being all that you can be, believing in yourself and listening to the wise words of your soul, not the ignorant shouts of your ego.

You have to be in it to win it

You have to be the change you want to see

You have to be the change you want to see

Get out there, be seen and be heard

You have to be the change you want to see

You have to be the change you want to see

You have to be the change you want to see

Don't just talk about something, find a way to do it, make it happen.

They can only say no

You have to be the change you want to see

They can only say no

What's the worst that can happen? You get a no or you get ignored, so what - eventually someone, somewhere will say yes.

You do belong

You are the author

They can only say no

You will always belong - to yourself, if others want to join you without trying to compromise or change you, that's fine.

You are the author

You are the author

You are the author

It's your life and your story. You get to own it and write the ending.

Play the hand

You are the author

You are the author

You may not get to deal the hand, but you can  sure as hell play the life out of it.
